Ho ho ho, ha ha ha, he he he...

Yes, it's that time of year again - the time of year when Literotica gets lazy and you, our favorite authors (that means all of you), get lucky. Instead of holding a separate contest for Thanksgiving, Daylight Savings Day, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, Check Your Smoke Detector Day, and whatever other days people get excited about this time of year, we go all Katamari on you and roll them all into one.

But that's not all! It is also sometime around now or now around sometime when Literotica celebrates her/his/its birthday. This year, Lit is 7, and that can mean only one thing: 700 bucks up for grabs. You heard (read) right - the top prize in this year's Literotica Winter Holiday/Anniversary contest is $700. If that doesn't get your copy of Microsoft Word (yes, we know, open source r00lz) excited, then nothing will.

With that, we wish you all good luck, and remind you not to accidentally bump the insert key because you'll be writing over the stuff you already wrote.

The contest prizes are as follows:

First Place: $700
Second Place: $250
Third Place: $100
Fourth through Seventh Place: special bonus prize

Because this is our super-duper 7th anniversary, all authors will be eligible, even if you've already won this year.

We will accept entries starting November 10, and we will stop accepting contest entries on December 7. On December 14, we will announce the 7 winners. This contest will coexist with the usual monthly contest. Stories may only win one or the other, not both contests simultaneously.

All rules for the monthly contests are in place. The only exception to the rules is:

- A story has only to accrue 25 votes to be eligible, rather than the 50 required for the monthly contest.

The following guidelines also apply:

- All contest stories must be submitted via our online form. If you are a WebTV user or have difficulty with the form, follow the instructions here.

- Author must put the phrase "WINTER HOLIDAY STORY CONTEST 2005" in the "Notes" field of the submission for the story to count in the contest.

- Story must have a winter holiday theme. Please don't just submit a normal story and throw in snowflakes and gingerbread. That would not be in the spirit of the contest, and readers & voters would probably punish you for your trickiness. ;)

Any story that meets the above criteria will be entered into the contest, and winners will be decided by reader input.

Important Note: Once your story is submitted, it may take 72 hours for it to be posted. We strongly suggest that you do not wait till the last day of the contest to submit your story. The sooner you submit, the better chance your story has of accruing the votes necessary to be eligible.

As always, any cheating will result in disqualification of the story. We reserve the right to disqualify any story/author for any reason at any time.

Good luck, and have fun! :)

Sounds like its time for some gingerbread porn . . .;)

We would then need to report that earning on a 1099, wouldn't we?

:(

If I write something really good and wait three years before submitting, does that mean the prize money will go up to $1000? :p

Will it get better with age? ;)

I was really excited to see the contest and the amount of winnings available. I've been trying to secure myself in the top fifteen in the survivor contest but I've got time to scribble an extra story for the winter contest right?

Not! I have got the worst case of writers block. I've hit a brick wall. NO survivor stories, NO winter contest stories. My ever lusty and vivid imagination has left the building. I hope I'll see a story from me listed with you guys.

Hey, don't worry about it. There's plenty of time to come up with something. Slightly less than three weeks, I'm guessing.

What? Was it something I said? :p

No, not really-just a momentary lapse into the depths of insanity on my part

Well that and thinking about a 1099 from Lit for the tax dudes people go to and having the IRS audit the winners in a public forum about Mrs. Claus involved in threesome with Santa's little helpers

Yeeehaaa!

Wooohooo! I've just actually started using the forums here. I have been a member for awhile now, but shesh, I really should have looked around this site more. hehe. I'm so looking forward to writing my story. I just saw the details. *bounces off to go write and be creative!* hehe. :nana:

Help please?

I've never posted a story here before, and I'd like to submit one for the Winter Holiday Contest, but I can't find the submit form. I checked the quick links and I checked my user CP. Now, I may just be missing the obvious, but where do I find the form?

Thanks in advance...

Thank you for trying to help me. I know I'm being extremely dense and I apologize. But I don't know which page you're talking about. Are you talking about the page I get when I click "User CP"? That page has a side bar but there is no button for submissions. The sidebar buttons are:

Settings & Options
Edit Signature
Edit Email & Password
Edit Profile
Edit Options
Edit Avatar
Edit Profile Picture

Private Messages
Inbox

List Messages

None of these seem to take me where I need to go. Am I on the right page?
Thank you for your patience

KTP, you have to sign in at members.literotica.com and access your profile there. From there you'll be able to submit your story. Just remember to put "WINTER HOLIDAY STORY CONTEST 2005" in the "Notes" section of the submission form so your story will be added to the official list of entries. Good luck!
