I walked out of the dark

Only to look back and see

That you were not there.

I waited

        and waited

            and waited

But I only waited in vain.

I tried to reach out

Hoping that you might

    reach out for me, too.

But only the cold wind touched my hands.

I called out your name several times

But my cries were all swallowed by silence.

My tears fell like rain from the sky

But it did not fill the void you left in me.

I held on to the hope

That you will find me soon.

I held on to the hope

That the road will lead me back to you.

But I'm still standing here alone.

In the cold on my own.

                All forgotten...
