It was a night like most others
Sitting, wondering, lost
To know that, somewhere out there
The grave was ready

I was thinking of the time
When life, full of excitement, echoed off the walls
Now silent, troubled…complicated

One more night, just one more night
I can’t wait for tomorrow

Light and energy, same but different
Time and space… empty
There are places between… find them

The pastime, the desire, the lust
Find the truth that sustains you for the moment
Before all is lost

Silent is the cry never uttered
Deafening is the roar never heard
What compels is brilliant
A false light for all to see

There was a time when harmonics aligned
A time when synergy required no effort
Now everything it out of tune
Wet strings, warped wood

Sharing is comparing
Competition the root of discussion
When a stranger is safer than a lover
Lost, alone, hurt

There are these nights
When darkness is blinding
When the echo can be heard
False, just a memory… the room is silent

There are those who would say that it was inevitable
Those who scoff at the stories
Some true, some not
But all shared and understood

To the average, she beams a star
To the knowing, something darker
To know her is to love her
Not to, is to lust for her

Somewhere in the tangled web we weave
Is that particle of truth
Somewhere in the vast array of zeros and ones
Is the shadow that we seek

For it is never true light that comes from the digital array
It is false illumination
To become entrapped by its falsehoods
Is to be once again….marginalized

Just one more night
