My 60th birthday’s come and gone
     I’ve crested in my life,
My future spread before me now
To be shared with my wife.

Aches and pains more frequently are
     My companions through the day,
And with shivers, and with chill bumps
I may pass the night away.

Fond memories and great big grins
     Thoughts of my children bring,
I am in the Fall of life
     They’re barely out of Spring.

We always hope for a long life
     To see our grandkids grown,
We pray the world’s a better place
For each seed that we’ve sown.

So generations come and go
     The blinking of an eye,
Compared to Nature’s greatest gifts
The sea and earth and sky.
