Author's Note: This is not a poem. These are lyrics that I spontaneously wrote and are probably pretty shit, but I guess you'll be the judge of that. Enjoy, whether for how good it is, or how bad it is that you laugh your ass off.

This is a game of life and death
It's all the same at the final breath
Burn for the crimes
Suffer for all time

Blinded by the light of dawn
The darkness dies and shadows withdrawn
Left here hollow and drowning
In the shallow waters
Or leave me to hang from the gallows

You were the best of us
A demon behind the eyes
Possession of the pure
The screams play like an overture
So I'll look beyond your lies
And see the worst of us
Inside your eyes

Used by strings of pain and sorrow
All the worst brings us to follow
To stand in the way
Hands of fate will burn today

Bleeding in the dark of light
The wolves will bark and bared we fight
Left to suffer in fear and prayer
In the tears of those who fared no better

This was the best of all
A demon behind the eyes
March of the new saints
Hearts falter in the wind of taint
So I'll fall before your lies
And see the worst of all
Inside the devil's eyes

Tired of playing the fool
The joker takes the throne
The devil takes his hold
And strips the skin from bone
There's nothing left to be done
This war cannot be won

You were the best of us
A demon outside the lies
Silence follows only pain
Now we can see the worst of all
In the mirror of our lives

Good one

Still not Mickiewicz, but it is refreshing to imagine poem as lyrics.
