I have caught the scent
waking every sunrise
Throrns and long stems
What bloomed, has died

Nothing good last forever
but roses will always reappear
Provided they are not cut
they come stronger every year

Requiring much in the way of care
More than water, dirt and rays
Nurturing a beautiful landscape
for the end of the hardest days

He bends ..tired of trying to be "there"
She bends ... and cannot be any softer
Hoping to see each other again
if they ever have anything left to offer
