I peered into the eyes of passion
Once red-hot, burning with desire
Now cold, lifeless, frozen in time
What happened to us?
We were a couple
That once loved beyond love
But now lie here in the dark
Feeling for each other only to kiss goodnight
Nights of passion long gone
Feelings of security and commitment
Replacing the firey lust that existed
When we lived only for each other
I want to hold you against me
Caress you, feel you
But I've forgotten how
Insecurity keeps me from revealing the passion
