Things worked out for everyone involved. Alisha delivered a healthy, happy, baby boy - my only son. Believe it or not, after some hinting by me, at Nancy's suggestion, despite the fact that I don't believe that she knew that I was the father, I attended natural childbirth classes with Alisha and was in the delivery room.
In three years Nancy got tenure at the University.
Alisha was, by far, the best assistant marketing director, and then marketing director, I ever had. When the company we worked for was sold and I got a mega-windfall with my stock options, I retired with no monetary worries at the grand old age of thirty five and recommended Alisha for my job as vice president of marketing. The transition team was smart enough to accept my recommendation.
As I write this, I am a stay-at-home Dad. Alisha and her three kids live a block away, and I look after her kids and mine when they are not in school while I do what I always have wanted to - write the great American novel! All the adults are very happy, and all the kids are well adjusted.
Did I ever have sex with Alisha again, you might ask?

silverthorne167 days agoSo somehow two wrongs make a right? Is that the moral of the story? Wife cheated and then MC cheated? So how was MC any better than the cheating wife? The wife at least had a possible excuse of mega hormones affecting her. What excuse did the MC have?

Loving wife claiming she saw no connection between affair and married life and continuing affair 2m after the connection and loosing husband was thrown in her face make no sense. Same with psychiatric bill of restored faithfulness and restoration of family happiness after the postnup. Of course, maybe I am not reading ax deeply between lines as some previous commentators doid and all mc did was resuming sexual relationship with his wife and keeping actual partnership with Alisha - but it's a short story so if that ws author's intention, it should be clearer.

TrainerOfBimbos3 months agoThe only real failing of this story was that you didn't make me believe that he would go back to Nancy. Also, the obvious inference that Alisha's 3rd child is his (he continued his affair) sort of makes Nancy the victim in all this. She was duped and it turned the MC into the villain in the story. If he had simply helped Alisha get a leg up in the corporate world and ended it with her with honor, I think his actions would have been entirely excusable, after all he wouldn't have started anything with her without Nancy's affair and stubbornness.
