I watched both women get examined separately. The both had blood tests and internal examinations. Then we went for the consultation. As we sat around her desk she explained what would be happening with the pregnancies during the few weeks before the next visit. The women were given prescriptions for prenatal vitamins. I asked about sex and exercise. Both were allowed. The doctor said that I couldn't cause any more harm than I already did.

After we left the doctor's office we went to the pharmacy to get prenatal vitamins for both of them. The same pharmacist was on duty. Both Rachel and Caroline handed him their prescriptions. They waited for him to fill them, paid for them. Then we went home.

As we walked in the door, Caroline ran to the phone to call Sheila.
