"We have Severn and Tucker on the fence."

They were quiet for a bit. Thinking. "Why haven't you contacted your mate?"

"Mate? Cal, I don't..."

"What do you feel when you think of him? His scent?" Sampson gasped slightly. "Do you see him in your dreams?" Sampson swallowed and didn't answer. "Do you still have the shirt?" Sampson closed his eyes and nodded. "You can't deny you want him. Why are you keeping him away?"

"For his own good," Sampson replied, quietly.

Calvin sighed and shook his head. His friend, his Beta, was being extraordinarily stubborn. Resisting the pull should be almost painful.

Wow, the comments again! Particularly re the “done, done, done” empathy surgically removed perhaps? Her first interaction with the pack was become a werewolf or die, it’s hardly the foundation for trust. That threat level will never go away completely. She did think that Emmet was going to punish her, his punishment was a taste of the treatment she got so that he could try and understand what she was going through. Although experience tells her that punishment is usually handled immediately it wasn’t done that way for Emmet because he had to work out the situation for himself then consider that she ran taking their child. For something that major what would her punishment be? She’s under massive amounts of stress in the council job and already feels like she doesn’t belong because she’s different. As everyone has already seen, “different” does not do very well in a wolf pack.

i agree

I was confused with Lyssa for a while and to a point annoyed. However, classic symptoms of domestic abuse. Her actions are erratic but in her mind, it is the only way to save herself and her child. I can't wait to see more of this!

Lyssa's reactions

At first I was annoyed with Lyssa. But realizing she is a victim of domestic abuse (Ronnie and countless others) she reacts the only way she knows how. Add to that the feelings of failure as a mom with a special needs child, having had a miscarriage, and even jealousy (her did at Jo about a crush on Em). She cannot take too much more. I don't think the wolves know what to do about her so they are leaving it up to Em. He loves her, but she really needs professional help.

Poor Sampson. I feel for him and his lover. Right now, they can't be together without it causing a meltdown of some sort. I wonder could they simply separate from their pack and go off on their own.

Anxiously awaiting the final chapter. *****5 stars

done done done

so lyssa lies, steals a car, runs away and Emmett is punished but she faces no consequences for her actions. Between that and the gay bashing I'm done with this.

Progression

Very nice progression. I like this as the outcome for her fitting in and all the misunderstandings. Adjustments are never quick or easy with life changes.
