"What colour knickers do you have on?"
"Oh no," said Louise, "not again. No, no, no, no. No."
"Louise..." said Clara.
"It's not part of my job description to lend you my underwear, Clara! Especially when I'm wearing it."
"Louise," said Clara very quietly, "I shall say just one word. Easter Sunday. Two words."
Louise's face fell and she sat down.
"That's not fair," she protested.
"Colour?" said Clara.
"White," said Louise.
"And bra?" asked Clara.
"What? Oh no! I can't go into that room with no..."
"Bra?" said Clara.
There was a pause as Louise scrutinised Clara's face.
"I hate you," she said. "White too."
"Perfect!" said Clara. "Princess Clara will go to the ball wearing underwear after all. Come on. Let's get to the Ladies." And she hooked her arms into Louise's and pulled her onto the grass.
"I had the most amazing dream," said Clara as they walked through the archway into the Banquet Hall. "You're never going to believe who was in it!"
