Click hereVeronica smirked, turning her computer screen so they could see the data readout. "That is where I had a significant advantage: I was tapped into your UTD's. Have you noticed how much water the two of you are drinking right now?"
Desirée and Kalyani stared at each other, then down at their glasses.
"Please, keep going," the Guild administrator said. "According to your UTD's, you're severely dehydrated and need to replenish your fluids. Also, Kalyani, you mentioned before meeting Din and Relg that you would shortly need to go to the washroom. Do you still feel that way?"
Kalyani's mouth dropped open. She slowly shook her head.
"Precisely," Veronica said. "And that was the final piece of the puzzle. Biological waste products, properly diluted, are often used as fertilizer for plant life. It also explains why both Relg and Din were so obsessed with having anal sex with you; they wanted to harvest your waste products to see if it could be used as food."
Gruustok shook his head. "I cannot fault your analysis, Ma'am, but your conclusions are completely preposterous. It makes no biological sense that plant matter could develop sentience."
"Earth bumblebees are capable of flight, even though it should be aerodynamically impossible," Veronica pointed out. "Either we need to recalibrate our scanners, or develop new methods of monitoring their brainwave patterns. Nevertheless, I think it is significant that Guild Courtesan Tanner and I came to the exact same conclusion, independent of one another and I will write my report to that effect. This also means we might have something the Throzaahli wants, which will aid negotiations immeasurably."
She smiled warmly at her courtesans. "Now, I believe Desirée and Kalyani have more than earned a well-deserved shower and rest. We're both grateful for what you've done today."
Gruustok looked troubled, but he inclined his head graciously. "I agree. Thanks to the both of you. I would also suggest that you two get a full-body scan so that we know whether or not the Throzaahli implanted any sort of devices on your bodies."
"Agreed," Veronica Franco said. "After that, you're free for the rest of the day. Dismissed."

michassover 14 years agothe writer Larry Niven described a number of sentient species, including I think a sort of carnivorous plant.
A couple of points, first a minor one, muscle fatigue is now thought not to be due to the build up of toxins. It seems silly to mention this anyway, certainly not more than once.
A major point is that the system to repay debt here makes no sense, and is not a sign of an enlightened culture. If they go back to Earth in the middle of training they are actually paid. If not they are a form of slave, forced to work to pay off this debt. You mention at one point that they can choose to do many things with this education, but not until they have paid off the debt. They also have no privacy as their every move and even thoughts can be monitored--by extension if the implanted chip can see what the courtesan sees then it can tap into whatever the person is thinking; remember vision, sound, etc, are constructs of the brain, not the direct outputs of the eyes, ears, etc.

Anonymousover 14 years agoI would LOVE to see the draco courtesan in the next one. Probably a great lead as it was a thread left hanging in the last story with the possibility of being fulfilled. Yeah so that's my vote. Love your stories btw, keep writing!

Anonymousover 14 years agoDear Funkydrummer, I have never left a comment on this site before but I just had to leave one after I read your series "Intergalatic Courtesan." I love it. I just absoutely love it. You are a talented writer with superior imaginative power. Please, write more soon. I enjoyed all the interspecies sex scenes you have written, especially the interspecies sex scene between that Tal Jin the diplomat and Désirée. Reading her being dominated by the 12 tentacles octopus-like alien is extremely arousing.
Therefore...
(1) More Désirée please. We want to see her entaining clients of different species. She is the best.
(2) If there is "intergalactic courtesans," there must be "intergalatic sex slave trade," please throw in some of those plots in there. Naked intergalatic sex slaves being caged like pets and etc.
(3) Let's see some Veronica as well, please.
