Dawn returned and sat down beside me in just a big t-shirt while I was lost in thought.

Dawn took my beer and had a sip.

"So, did you fix Amy anything else besides breakfast?"

"Oh yes, we had some fun this morning before she went to sleep."

"Good, is she doing okay?"

"Yes, she is okay, just ready to get off the night shift."

"I'm glad you two had some time together, you can tell me about it later,"

Thank god, I said to myself. Dawn curled up next to me on the sofa. We sat quietly for a long time.

"James, you are being awful quiet, you sure everything is okay?"

"Yes, just something we need to talk about later."

"Okay. I better get dinner started before Amy gets up."

"I'll help."

We got up and went to the kitchen and started dinner. About an hour later we had everything ready.

"Why don't you go and see if Amy is up," Dawn said.

I went up the stairs and down the hall to Amy's room. I knocked on her door but didn't get a reply.

"Amy," I said as I opened the door.

Amy walked out of the bathroom naked rubbing a towel in her hair.

"What James?"

"I wanted to make sure you were up, we have dinner almost ready."

"Okay. James, why did you knock on my door?"

"I don't know."

"You don't have to knock on my door."

I turned and left Amy's bedroom. I really was thinking about that morning. I needed to talk to Dawn.

Amy came down to the kitchen about 15 minutes later.

"I guess, be glad when this is over."

"I need to show you something."

Dawn and I went and sat on the sofa so I could show her the recording from the morning.
