"Trouble?" he asked.
She looked away and back.
"Can we be friends, Lucian?" she asked. "At least friends?"
Now he shrugged.
"For how long?" he asked. "Until you change your mind again?"
Why did she cry? Tears ran down her cheeks, all of a sudden.
He stepped aside.
"Sorry, I have to leave for classes."
And he ran.

Tootight1over 7 years agoI know schools like this existed in Europe for years, but a story about one in the U.S. is new, not that I'm so narrow to believe that they wouldn't, but because of the moral and social construct of the country.
