Eventually, we all got up and cleaned up. Megan went up to shower and Eve signed the paperwork and we concluded our discussion. Megan returned, fresh and clean, in her robe. A long, teary good-bye ensued and we all forgave the past sins. We wished Eve luck in her new life and she wished us luck. As Eve kissed and hugged me good-bye, she said to me: "I know you'll take real good care of her."
And then she turned to Megan and said firmly:
"Megan, sweetie, you're a lot like me. More than you know or want to admit. Be careful, take good care of him, treat him better than I did."
And with that, Eve exited the house. And I was now free to fully pursue my new life with Megan.
