The dance was not like the one Christie had witnessed when her sword was blessed; while still graceful and beautiful the Last Dance was slower and mournful as was the song they sang to the Dark Maiden. The priestess had tears in their eyes as they danced to the goddess to accept Tlueindra and give her a place of honor in Arvandor, the plane where the good elven deities lived. The dance was sad but as beautiful as any professional ballet on the other side.

The friends looked on and Natalie, Christie, and Rain cried openly as Lou, Jason, and Ahira held back tears but had watery eyes and tightened throats. After the funeral pyre burned out the dance and singing stopped and the mourners made their way into the great hall for the funeral feast.
