Click hereI met with Grace just once to sort some of the house contents. She apologised and said it was the biggest mistake of her life. She had insisted I didn't go to jail and was trying her best to avoid any repercussions for me. She had also agreed to the annulment. I shrugged, not quite able to bring myself to thank her.
We said goodbye and she wished me all the best. I thought she looked a bit lost as she walked away. It would have been cruel to mention that I had a date arranged with her cousin Emily that very night.
I was back in the pub with the lads, we agreed things were working out reasonably OK. Maybe I wouldn't need to run, and us men can fight back after all. Jake proposed a toast:
"Long live the revolution!"
I would love to see a 4th chapter, a happy ending chapter as a contrast to all of the other outcomes
Again, I find this set of stories intriguing. You picked a fictional world and stuck to it. For those nit picking the setting, it's funny that you can except movies with an alternate world, regardless of how much they make sense, but you can't in a story. Relax and just enjoy it. I will agree that in said world you would be hard pressed to find a guy who'd willingly get married short of the prenuptial route. However, I'd disagree that a man gets nothing from marriage. Kids and 25 years bliss, as in the first two stories, you've gotten a lot from it. Now, before you lay into me, I'm not suggesting you suck it up and accept a cheating spouse or that you shouldn't leave her. I'm just saying that unless she had a motivation other than love to marry you, didn't have kids, and was unfaithful from day 1, you did in fact get something from your marriage at one point.
