"My grandmother has died. It was sudden and unexpected. I'll be leaving to fly back for the funeral as soon as I can make the arrangements."

"Didn't she and your mother live together?"

"Yes, they did. And I have no idea what my mother's plans are."

"Couldn't you bring her out here?"

I looked at her in amazement. That simple question had solved my problem. I hugged her and went upstairs to begin the preparations for my trip.
