Sasha put on a robe and went down to get the door. Somehow she knew that it was for her. She opened it to find a man standing there with a vase full of beautiful exotic flowers. The colors were so bright, so happy and amazing. She couldn't take her eyes off of them.

"Sasha Redgrave?" he asked.

"Yes, that's me."

"Please sign here," he said pointing out where she needed to sign.

"Thank you," she said taking the flowers and closing the door.

There was a card there and she took it. Opening the envelope, she found out that it actually smelled like him. He must really be in her head after only a few hours. She let her eyes read over the words, her fingers touching the ink.

I must see you. Meet me at my restaurant next to the club at noon. Please.

It was simply signed Wolfe.

He wanted to see her again. She didn't know what to do. Her normal, thinking side was yelling no. It told her that there was too much going on with this man. The other side, the one that actually felt, was telling her yes, go for it. She was confused. That was how Marti and Jeanie found her.

"Are those from Ehrik?" questioned Marti.

"Yes. He wants to meet for lunch."

"You are going, aren't you? The man is dreamy," Jeanie said.

"I don't know, Jeanie. Something happened last night with him.

When we kissed, his eyes changed. It really messed with my head."

"Wow, that's a little strange. I had heard a rumor that he was different. I guess it might be true. Still though, you should talk to him. Let him explain things."

"I think you're right. I'll go. It's only fair," she said.

"So when does he want to see you?" asked Marti.

"Noon. I've got time," Sasha said.

"Yeah, only like two hours, Red!" said Marti.

"No way, I slept in. I'm off to get dressed then."

She made her way back to her room and began going through her clothes. She didn't know what to wear. She looked and looked, until finally she found a cute little red sundress. Sasha opted for it and a matching pair of red lace bra and panties. She dressed and put on just a little make up. She left her red hair in curls, falling over her shoulders.

By the time she was done and looked at the clock, she had about half an hour to get there. She borrowed the keys to Jeanie's Mini Cooper. Sasha's hands tingled; they were sweaty and she was nervous. Taking a deep breath, she pulled up to the valet and gave him her vehicle.

Upon entering, she was greeted by a hostess. The woman's features were unique; she was dark haired and beautiful. Sasha couldn't help but stare until the woman repeated herself.

"I'm sorry. I'm here to see Mr. Wolfe," she nearly whispered.

"Right this way, Miss Redgrave," the woman said, accompanying her into the dining hall. There was already a crowd beginning to form. The man did seem to have a talent in business.

As they rounded the corner, she saw him. She seemed to feel his presence first, but then his eyes met hers. She couldn't help but smile as he stood up to greet her. He took her hand, gave it a kiss and whispered a hello.

"I'm glad you could join me, Sasha," he said in a voice that rang through her body.

"Thank you for inviting me, Ehrik," she said as she moved to sit in the booth.

"How are you doing this morning?" he asked her.

"I'm well. Actually I slept late this morning which I never do."

"It's good to do that from time to time. You look well rested. Did you have sweet dreams?"

She looked up at him, wondering what exactly he meant by that. Did he know what she had dreamed of? That he had been the focus of her mind all night long, long after she ran from him?

"They were very sweet," she said with a smile.

He only grinned as they were brought wine. It seemed he had already decided on the meal. She wanted to ask him about last night but was unsure how. She shifted in her seat, trying to act normally, to not let on that there was so much going on inside her head.

"Tell me what's going on in your head, Sasha? I can tell you want to ask something," he said.

"I wanted to know about last night. I need to understand why," she said, thinking he knew what she would be talking about.

"What do you mean? We were kissing and then you left. I didn't understand it. I wanted to know what I'd done wrong. I thought all night about it while I was awake," he told her.

She wondered if he didn't know; if he didn't realize it. "When I looked into your eyes, they were different. The blue in them was gone. They were this intense silver and it scared me. That's why I took off."

***

This was not the way Ehrik wanted to explain this to her. He thought they would learn more about each other first, like normal people did. Yet he knew it would be difficult to keep his wolf in check as it had been last night. He could understand why she took off but it still wounded him. He thought his mate wouldn't be shaken so easily.

"I have to tell you something. Something you won't believe, you'll find it hard to accept. I'd rather do it up in my apartment. It's not something that should be told in a public place. I'll have our food brought up if you'll join me."

Sasha nodded and stood up with him. They walked by the woman again and Ehrik told her to have their food brought up. She nodded as they walked by. He pressed the top floor and the elevator began moving.

"Top floor huh," she smiled at him.

"Yes, always the top, always the best," he said, looking her over.

She was truly amazing. The way her hair curled up and over her shoulders. He wanted to wrap his hands in and smell it. He was craving contact with her in a way he never wanted anyone. It was a bit frightening to him. The power this little woman held over him was indescribable.

They finally reached his rooms and he took her hand as they walked in. The place was huge. It was filled with an eclectic mix of furniture. Some looked antique while others were very modern. While Sasha gaped at the luxury of the room, Ehrik marvelled at her.

He loved the way her dress curved over her body; it framed her form perfectly. Her legs were long and lean. He wanted to feel them wrapped around him as he thrust deep inside her. He wanted to take her, to fill her till she could think of no other. He wanted to be the only man in her mind and heart.

"So Ehrik, tell me please," she said sitting on the couch.

"I'm not exactly what you think. There is more to me than this," he told her.

"Are you married?" she asked quickly.

"No, sweetheart. I've been waiting for my "one" for so long. I'm not a mere man. I have another side to me. Have you ever heard of stories about men who are half wolf and half man?"

"You mean like a werewolf?" she said.

"Something like that. They are a species of people known as Were, Sasha. I am the Alpha, the leader. We are not like those you see in movies. We change or shift, but our form is still very much that of an actual wolf, not some half-mutant. I know it's hard to take in, but it's the truth. My eyes changed because my wolf was close. He hungered for you as much as the man in me did, and does."

***

Sasha was lost. She heard his words, understood them but she just couldn't believe him. She stood up, suddenly feeling like she needed air. Some part of her felt closed in. She saw him moving closer and she held out her hand to stop him. She needed a moment to digest what he had said.

She walked out to the balcony. Her hands held on to the rail; she took several deep breaths. Could what he told her be true? She had seen his eyes change. It would explain it but it seemed so out of this world! It was almost as though the idea was too unreal not to be. Why would he have made it up?

Turning, Sasha looked in through the glass and saw him watching her. He looked frightened, afraid he'd told her more then she could handle. It was at that moment she knew he told the truth. Somehow he was both man and wolf. She had no idea what to do now, though. Her heart was saying stay, because of their connection. Her head though, wasn't sure how it would work out.

There were so many questions running through her mind. How would this work between them? What did being an Alpha mean? How did his world work? All of a sudden she wanted to know the little things, not to mention that she was curious how the sex went.

Sasha walked back inside and looked into Ehrik's eyes. She smiled; he let out a breath. She took his hand and held it in hers, while her other hand moved over it and felt the texture of his skin.

"I have so many questions. So many things I want to know. I'm not running away from you but promise me we will go slow," she said.

"Yes, whatever you wish. If there is something you want to know, ask and I'll tell you. I won't hold anything back," he told her and leaned down, pressing his lips to hers.

The kiss was soft, slow and teasing. He had her wrapped in his arms, pulling her closer when the doorbell rang. Both of them let out a sigh as he answered it. The food smelled wonderful and Sasha felt her tummy growl with hunger. She saw him look up at her; he laughed while she smiled.

"It smells good and I haven't eaten since this morning," she told him as they sat down and began to eat lunch.

***

There was little talk while they ate. They watched each other; tension was thick in the air. When they finished they sat back on the couch, with Ehrik holding her as a movie played on the television. It was nothing big but the moment was perfect for him. He had his mate in his arms, she accepted him and soon he would truly know her.

It was then that he heard a soft snoring. He looked at the little one in his arms and saw that her eyes were closed. She was snuggled up, asleep in his arms. His wolf wanted to howl in pleasure, in pure delight. They hadn't made love but this was just as good.

There was a knock on the door. Ehrik didn't want to move but quietly slipped from beside her, placing a pillow where he had been. He watched her snuggle into it and smiled. The knock sounded again. He made his way to the door and found Viktor behind it.

"What is going on?" he said, opening the door for him.

"There is a problem in the pack. It seems a new one is coming into your lands. They are not from around here. I have only heard reports but they seem to be wild," he said, glancing over and seeing red hair on the pillow.

"Let's send a scouting party to find out what's going on and try to invite the Alpha to sit with me."

"It will be done. I see your mate is here. This is good news for you," Viktor said.

"Yes it is. She saw my eyes change, which is why she ran. I had to tell what I was. The short version at least, without the part of me telling her she is my mate. She took it well and has decided to give us a try."

Viktor smiled and was happy for his leader. It had been too long for Ehrik and it was clear on his face that this woman brought him the peace he needed to stay centered. It was a good thing and he was sure with time she would be able to accept it all.

"I'm sure with time Ehrik, it will all work out. I believe in it," Viktor told him. "I will leave you with her."

Ehrik went back to the couch; he moved the pillow and slid back into where he'd been. His hands went around her, holding her like he never wanted to let go. It was heaven, he thought, as he let his own eyes drift close, but somehow he wondered if this happiness would last.

good story, but...

You need an editor honey. You have a great story going but there are a lot of mistakes in your grammar, as well as missing words from your sentences. an editor will help you fix this and maybe flesh out the story a little more. Keep writing.
