Silver Moon: Bk. 02 Ch. 03

All relations are 18+ when it comes to sex. Don't feel much like doing a forward at the moment. Maybe when I finish I might put something here. Oh and @ Anonymous sometimes you need to wait for the next chapter before the reasoning behind something is shown.

Maric helped get people situated in the various vehicles. He rather wished Dan had told him about the extra people but they had room-barely. As he was helping a scent waived past his nose which caught his attention but he couldn't place it. There were too many other competing scents from the crowds of people, engine exhaust, jet fuel, and many others. With a shake of his head he finally climbed into the car with Dan and part of his menagerie. Before he could fire it up one of the two little Kitsunes hopped onto his shoulder and looked out the front window.

Amarish had hopped on the man's shoulder so he could see out and he liked the feel of the man as well. He felt solid and dependable though there were traces of sadness as well. Just for good measure he gently nuzzled Maric's ear. "I's just want to see out if you don't mind sir." His sister was curled up in Dan's lap relaxing.

Maric twitched away from the nuzzle and had to laugh. "Your whiskers tickle so none of that while I am driving. If you want to sit there feel free." He reached one hand up and stroked the boy's ears before stating the car up and pulling away. "So anything I need to know before we make it home?" He could sense some annoyance as well as amusement over the pack bonds.

Dan snorted. "To be honest I am not sure where to start. It was very eye opening to say the least." He scratched his beard for a moment as he considered how he was going to respond. "I am only going to hit the high points for the moment and tomorrow I will catch everyone up and deal with the Kitsunes. First, hold your shorts for this one, I am not sure what I am anymore. When Pam was supposed to be inducted into the clan we discovered that she has Red Kitsune blood in her. He made an appearance and she is now a Red Kitsune and we, the entire pack, have been ordered to his estates before the next moon." He grinned over his shoulder when Pam snorted.

"I am no longer completely a lycan since I now appear to have some of the powers of a Kitsune as well as a mid-form with ears and three tails. I have a black, red, and silver tail and Pam is much the same. Arthur was turned into a Kitsune as well and he and Helda are discussing marriage and she is going to set up shop as a seamstress in town at some point. Amariah and Amarish have been assigned to Pam and I since we are senior Kitsunes though beyond that I am not sure why." He held his fingers up and sort of mentally checked off the high points. "Well that is the quickie list. Tomorrow when I hold a meeting with my staff I will give you more information. Oh, one more thing, Nara is tentatively a second mate for me. The spirits graced her with more children of mine so she will get the respect she is due."

Maric didn't bother looking at Dan and settled for a sigh. "I have to say since you allowed me to join the pack my life has gotten interesting. So how are Sylvia and Paulo?" He had been getting updates but something was being kept back from him.

Dan smiled. "They are doing well though they have asked to remain with the Silver Kitsune Clan. I think this is more for Sylvia's sake. I will be honest with you; I don't think she will be able to rejoin a wolf pack for many years. The mental trauma is too deep. Before we go south to the Red Kitsune clan I am going to make a visit and resolve that issue. I assume you would like to come along?"

Maric couldn't help it when he started the deep lycan growl of anger and his eyes changed slightly. "Damn straight on that and as long as she is content and safe is all I can wish for her." He felt the little Kitsune change and wrap his arms around Maric's neck and gave him a good hug.

"I's go with and hold Clan Lord's coat." After one last squeeze he changed back and rested his head on Maric's shoulder.

Maric couldn't help but relax and smile at the boy. "That will be up to Dan but I can't help but want to take some popcorn and a beer and watch while he cleans the old boy up." There was a bit of a vicious tone to his voice.

"Tell me about it. After this visit I really have the urge to go and beat someone up. It was good seeing everyone but too much stuff happened again. I might swear off visiting there for a few years. Every time I go up there the spirits get active and seem to have some game of one up man ship. They seem to find it funny to see what else they can do to me." That was a definite growl and Pam snickered at him. In the back of his mind was a laugh he associated with Amaratsue and he sighed.

Pam reached forward from the back seat and stroked his hair and neck. "I am sure they have a good reason for all this. We just have to wait to see why. Besides you are so cute in your mid-form and you know you love getting your ears stroked." She was making a kind of joke out of it since she was probably more freaked out than Dan.

Dan growled at her. "I am so going to make sure that the room is clear of everyone this evening and ravish you. I have to say you have really cute ears and tails as well. Oh and don't call me cute darn it." As her hand stroked his hair he leaned into it and sighed. "Oh, continuing my baby making spree Pam is pregnant as well."

Maric simply started laughing since there wasn't anything else he could do. He had noticed that Nara was obviously pregnant as well and assumed they were Dan's. "Well I hope things calm down for you since all the changes are having an impact on the pack. As you know wolves like their changes to be slow and that doesn't describe what is happening to you boss."

Dan snorted at Maric. "May your life become active and busy... I know what you need; you need to find a good woman to keep you active. You have been slowing down recently." He grinned at Maric and got nipped by Amariah for his teasing. "Oh, tomorrow night I am going to be taking Pam as my mate since it is the full moon. I want to get it taken care of before we go south. Well if Pam doesn't mind that is." One hand came up and pressed against the one that was stroking his hair.

She lightly bopped him. "Dan not everyone needs a mate and or a bunch of kids spread around you know." When he mentioned taking her as his mate she pressed her hand against his neck and her eyes softened. "I am looking forward to that Dan and yes I want to. It might have been sudden but you are someone I have always been looking for. That other part of me that was missing."

Maric smiled at their actions and was pleased. There had always been a part of Dan missing and Pam filled that part. It almost felt like she had gentled Dan and tempered him. He was massively strong when it came to the pack and protecting it but there had always been brittleness to that strength. He couldn't help but feel this was going to be really good for the pack.

The rest of the drive was relatively quiet. Arthur and Helda were quietly talking about her working and opening a shop as a seamstress. The little Kitsune remained curled up on his shoulder and chair back and was asking questions about the scenery. Amariah was simply relaxing and getting a sense of what the spiritual feel of the others was like as well as the surrounding spirits. This country was considered far less reactive to spirits than those people further north.

Eventually they reached the pack house and Dan had to sigh in contentment. "I do love it there but I have come to accept this as home and always look forward to coming back. With having a mate it is going to be far more home than it was." He stepped out and since he knew there were Kitsunes he shifted to his mid-form. When he did he glowered at Maric. "If you laugh I will drag your ass to the challenge ring."

Maric wisely didn't say anything and settled for opening the back door of the sedan for Arthur and Helda to get out. As he was doing that Dan was helping Pam out. The rest of the wolves were starting to pull the luggage out and were taking it in. Since Shannon was there the boy opened Nara's door and helped her out. "Welcome to the Pack house ma'am. Dan called ahead and there is a room for you upstairs."

Nara smiled. "Just Nara please, I am the youngest daughter of my parents." As she looked around she had to admire the buildings and surrounding. "You have a lovely property Dan. I have to admit I can't wait to shift and go for a trot. Running is out of the question much anymore."

As Dan was shifting so did Pam and the two little Kitsunes. Amariah and Amarish were in their little formal robes though Pam and Dan were still in their normal cloths. That definitely got a reaction from the wolves helping them. For a brief moment silence reigned and then a quiet murmuring started and many of them kept glancing at the four of them. Dan sighed and rolled his eyes but didn't say anything.

"Well let's get inside and at the very least I will say hello to the Kitsunes though today I have no urge for business. Unless it is an overriding need they are going to have to wait for the day after the moon." He needed the time to relax and de-stress as well as catch the pack up on the most current goings on.

Maric nodded and inhaled and there was that trace of scent again. It was bothering him since it smelled so familiar and made him want to relax. "I told them that and they didn't seem to have a problem with it. Oh, I have the plans back from the architect for the proposed new quarters. We can look at them tomorrow and wander around. That will give you time to show everyone around."

As they walked into the building Gianni and her minions charged up screaming in happiness. That was till they noticed both the fact that Dan had ears and tails not to mention a tiny person on his shoulder. Gianni stopped and almost got taken out by the two boys. "Oh wow. Can I pet your ears? Why do you have a little person on your shoulder?"

Dan mock growled at Gianni and lifted Amariah down off his shoulder. "This is a spirit Kitsune and her name is Amariah. If you ask nicely she might play with you since she is about your age. I will warn you that her tails are evil and if she starts pointing one at you run."

Amariah frowned at him and cocked a tail at him only to get growled at. She snickered and walked over to Gianni and gave her a good hug. *Not biting tails or else. I has to go with Danny for now but I will find you later.* As she was talking one of the boys lightly touched her ears and started petting them. She tilted her head towards him for a moment before jumping into the air and appeared on Dan's shoulder.

"Go play kids. I have a few things to take care of but will see you before dinner. If you are nice I might even drag your butt's outside and chase them around." He gave them a toothy grin and all of them giggled. "Actually tell all the pups that after dinner we are going to go and play. I feel the need to terrify some pups."

"Okay Maric I am going to my office. Have Angie bring some snacks and drinks in. Have the Kitsunes come to my office as well." Drat he was going to need to find an office for Pam as well. He might end up having her move into Felanzi's office for training on being the female alpha. Dan looked at several of the wolves. "Get a nice chair for Pam, maybe from Felanzi's office and make sure we have enough seating for the visitors."

He had to shake his head since he had really hoped for a few quiet days. As soon as he had mated with Pam he was going to have to look into what was needed to fly down to Red's territory. Actually that he could probably have Arthur take a look at. That was another question, what was his department going to make of his change in status? What was he going to end up doing? One thing Dan was considering was seeing if he could hire Arthur away from his department. That way Dan could hand pretty much all the legal issues with all the connections to him. It was getting to the point that he needed someone to start handling that. "Arthur why don't you come with to my office? I have a feeling that this is going to be another headache for us. I also have a few questions for you."

Arthur snorted at Dan. "I am not sure how brave I am feeling right now. I am tempted to say that I need to work on some reports though I will actually be sitting in the corner rocking back and forth while sucking on my thumb..." He was grinning when he said it though he did turn to Helda. "Have someone show you to our room and start settling in. I will hunt you down later." He gave her a light peck before he turned and followed Dan.

By the time they had gotten in there it had been setup as Dan had asked and he settled down in his chair and sighed. "Okay stinker take a seat on the desk or better yet you and Amarish can sit on Pam's lap since she will be off to one side."

Amariah hopped down and stretched. *Want nappy soon. I's tired from flight, it was boring and noisy.* She walked across his desk and hopped down in Pam's lap and snuggled up next to her brother. When he snuggled close to her she smiled and looked content.

Moments later Angie walked in followed by one of the other junior females. She was carrying the drinks and some finger foods. When she saw him she froze and stared for a moment. One corner of her mouth twitched but she managed not to laugh. Dan had a grumpy expression on his face since he figured most of the pack was going to be struggling not to snicker at him. "Here you go Dan and they will be in momentarily." She nodded at Pam and then her eyes widened when she saw the little Kitsunes.

"Oh they are darling." She didn't even think before walking over and squatting down so she was at their level. "I will get some seats for you for dinner. Both of you are so cute." Angie reached over and lightly petted their ears and had to smile when both Kitsunes preened at the attention. "Right now it is going to have to be some high chairs but I will talk to Saul and get you something more fitting." One last pet and she stood and dimpled at Dan. "Only you Dan, only you."

She left the room with his growl following her. Angie managed to keep from dying laughing till she was far enough away from his office.

When her mate found her Aiden had to wonder what she was laughing about. Her arms were wrapped around her now slender waist and she was laughing so hard she was crying. She had delivered shortly before Dan had flown to see Mari as she delivered his pups. Their two were currently being watched by Nancy while he and Angie worked. "Um, should I ask or keep going?"

Angie waved a hand at him and was forced to take a number of deep breaths. "You will see and I am not going to spoil the fun." She dried the tears from her face and stepped into his arms. "Oh man I haven't laughed that hard for a while. I need to get to the kitchen and make sure everything is cooking correctly." She gave him a hug and kiss before heading back to work.

Dan could both hear the laughter as well as feeling her amusement over the pack bonds and sighed. Since there was a small pile of paperwork in his basket he pulled it out to glance over while they waited. "I meant to say welcome to the pack house. I will show you the bedroom later." When he glanced up he had to smile at her expression.

Pam turned and gave him a brief smile before continuing to look at the room. "This is a lovely office and the art is wonderful. This place is huge and you are adding another building? Goodness. I knew you lived in a large house but this place is almost too much." If she had seen it at the beginning she would have been even more impressed.

Before Dan could speak Maric knocked on the open door. "Alpha the representatives of the Kitsune Clans in our country are here." He stepped off to one side and they filed in and stood in front of the various chairs and couch.

Dan looked up when Maric knocked though he had heard them coming. He stood up though Pam didn't. Amariah had fallen asleep and she didn't want to disturb the little girl. As the Kitsunes filtered in Dan could only stare since no matter what their hair color was their ears and tail indicated the clan they were associated with.

"Good after noon ladies and gentlemen. I am Clan Lord and senior Alpha Danilo Legarith. This is my soon to be mate Clan Lady Pamela. The two small Kitsunes are Amariah and Amarish. The gentleman over there is Arthur and currently works for the state department. Please introduce yourselves and then have a seat." He sat down in his chair and waited.

A lady with golden ears and tails stepped forward a bit. "Technically other than you I am the most senior Kitsune in the room and since we are known to each other I will take care of the introductions." She was older and was able to hide her shock at what she had seen. The person behind the desk just radiated power and authority. She simply didn't know what he was any more though he still had a very large sense of being a wolf. Overlying that was the sense of at senior Kitsune with hints of both red and silver beings standing behind him. The two little Kitsunes though very young were powerful and she could feel the connection with the silver presence.

"I am the clan leader of the Golden Kitsunes and my name is Cynthia Jorgensen. The silver representative is Kaile Usagati, black is Wade Nightshade, Red is Fiera Goya, blue-white is Briona Hirayama, brown is Jade Brown, and blue is Jake Adamson. I am sure you know but the first three colors, gold, silver, and black represent the sun, moon, and night. The other four represent the elements that they are most connected with."

As she was introducing the others they would nod and then sit down. Most of them looked rather impressed with Dan as well as Pam and the little Kitsunes. Once they had all been introduced Dan gave them a thoughtful look and leaned forward and picked up the small pot of coffee on his desk and poured a cup for himself, Pam, and Arthur. "Please feel free to get something to eat and nibble on if you want. Formal meetings and such have their place but in my office I tend to be a bit more relaxed. I have found over the years that an informal meeting tends to work better for me than a formal one." He gave them a relaxed smile. "Then again I am not doing anything formal at the moment since I just flew in and am going to relax till the morning after the full moon. So what actually brings you here?"

Cynthia gave him a polite smile as she poured some tea in a cup and doctored it. She did take a small plate of the snack food and settled back. While she waited for the others to serve themselves she took a sip and contemplated the man behind the desk. He definitely radiated controlled power as well as having a very commanding presence. She could see why her spirit Kitsune told her to gather the others up and bring them here.

Once everyone was done getting drinks and food she finally spoke. "All of us were commanded to come here and introduce ourselves to you. As is traditional in the Kitsune culture the most senior Kitsune is considered to be the clan leader. In this case since we are all from splinter groups from the mother clans we all tend to be considered rather junior to the main branches." She took a sip and received a nod from Dan to continue.

"Since a number of the other clans are also essentially a country in and of themselves our Spirits have decided we need to become organized similarly." She noticed Arthur frowning and gave him a polite smile as well. "Not as in taking over this country but forming a single unified clan for our country. Much like you have organized the wolves in this country and are working to setup a council of senior wolves we have been instructed to come to you as well."
