He walked into the hall, and the door closed slowly and softly behind him.
As the light faded into darkness, Kevin switched on the outside lights so that he could continue to watch the snow fall. He put on the "Long Live Love" cd by Olivia Newton-John, and listened to "I Honestly Love You." He smiled with his memories. It had been eighteen years since he had last seen Evelyn. They had both traveled many miles always in different directions, she with her husband, he with his wife. But whenever the snow fell, she was first in his heart.
At about the same time, I was right there with you. No happily-ever-after for me, either, but I’ll never forget her, or cease to appreciate everything that she did for me. 5 stars.
The first parts of this story weren't nearly as interesting as the closing comments of the loving couple. Nice story and hope you have more for us to read about this couple.
I like how descriptive you are. I think I'd enjoy reading your writing about... even making tuna salad!
