Now, I'm a fair cook, and maybe it was the motivation, but I think that I cooked my best meal ever for Mark. Everything came out perfect, right down to some flour on the tip of my nose that Mark laughed about and then kissed away. We laughed and joked, all about nothing serious, and it just felt so good, so natural, so right to be with this wonderful man. We were just sitting there, on his cheap, black naugahyde couch, and the moment was right for what I wanted to tell him, what I hadn't told him when I should have, to tell him that I loved him. I was kissing him, ready to tell him, but I didn't get the words quite the way I had planned. I was going to say, "I love you, Mark," but what came out was "Make love to me, Mark."

Anonymousover 5 years agoHoly cow! I can’t bwlieve that there have been no other comments on this work. It sure takes me back so many years to when i was in a similar situation. And this story is certainly far from being identical but, it brings back all of those old feelings of long, long ago and it is fine work to read. Great Work.

I love the development of the action, slow but sure steps, although the end of this chapter has surprised me a little, but I think it is a possible reaction given the circumstances of Jennifer, nerves can betray our words and make them say our most secret desires ahead of time.
I want to continue hearing the story unfolds.

ramonbrookalmost 8 years agoI LOVE IT! It is a fantastically realistic story which provokes emotions that most readers have experienced at least once in their life! While I'm not a fan of short chapters, they work in this story.
I must say however, I agree with some commenters about the last line of the story. I think with the slow progression of the story and the characters in this story, it is a little too soon. However I will not pass judgment on that until I read the next chapter.

a strategic decision has been made to release this series in very short segments, some not even a full page in length. (the sentiment is often expressed in comments on Lit that one page does not a chapter make). they have been together for only one week. as individuals they have no experience dating, let alone being sexually active.
how about a learning curve?
