On one hand, it was a relief – if the King was there, it would be rude for Felis to leave, and he hated the public orgies his father was so fond of. He was glad to retire quietly with one of the sweeter members of the tier.
On the other, it was obvious Leon's interest in Lux was no show. He was leaving because she was of greater interest to him than anything else in the lounge.
Felis clenched his teeth. Was she a threat to the King? Should he be more worried? In giving her the benefit of the doubt, he could be risking everything.
He shook his head and smiled at the girl now standing before his bed.
The King was a grown man, he could very well take care of himself. Felis resolved that he was going to enjoy himself, and do his best to rid his mind of a certain pair of wild, serious green eyes that kept haunting him.
