It felt so good to be linked with him again, but their bond was different now. He had held something back, and with a flash of understanding, she realised he'd deliberately withheld the compulsion to obey him. Without that constraint, she was gloriously free to act in kind. She felt a surging wellspring of positive emotions throbbing within her, as memories of their time together danced before her eyes. Saving Calara, rescuing Dana, freeing Jade, protecting Rachel, all the glorious times they'd spent in bed enjoying each other, and yes, even Irillith helping at the end. She channelled it all into one massive beam of pure white energy, and sent it flowing back into him.

"No!!" Progenitor-John wailed, his face twisted in anguish. "Not when I was so close!"

Then suddenly he was gone, banished into a pit of blackness and despair, with a long echoing wail of abject misery. As his dreadful plaintive cry echoed around the room, John slumped to the ground, gasping for breath.

Alyssa ran across the room and flung herself into his arms, sobbing with relief. John hugged her to him fiercely, and when she finally pulled back to gaze lovingly into his eyes, he stared back at her in wonder.

"You did it. You saved me," he said in awe.

She hugged him tightly again, and whispered in his ear, "We saved each other."

.... and Rachel said, "This is hard for me to prove without a fresh and willing test subject, but I suspect when you first start feeding a girl, she needs to adapt to taking your loads. My body is specially adapted to thrive off your cum now, so I can digest several pints in just a few hours." ... And as more girls join with John, and he slits one load among them all, it takes much less time to be fully absorbed, ... to aid in emergency healing during battle, they might already have passed the time when all the cum was gone, ... unless there is some kind of a slowdown that John or his Matriarch can employ, ... anyway, think on it, it needs to be addressed, .... ;-) ttfn

Heck yeah! Good thinking there Vadasr, those Trankaran Forgemasters just might have an insight or two that could help our deliciously curvy Chief Engineer, ... Onyxium and Etherite both have problems combining / bonding with other minerals, ... so seek expert advice, .... makes sense to me, .... I wonder why Dana didn't think of it, or why the extremely intelligent, but somewhat distracted, Rachel didn't either, ... ;-) ttfn

-- Early in the chapter as the girls were coming onto the bridge, ... "as Dana and Rachel walked over to their posts at Engineering and Tactical, while Irillith moved to sit in the dormant station" ... so, did the Doctor replace Calara at Tactical, and is Calara running the Communication station now? or is Rachel helpfully manning one of the secondary Tactical stations, that are there in addition to Calara's primary position, the cruiser has three built in tactical stations, with a number of other sites that could be made into tactical stations, ...? okay I picked my nit, carry on, .... ;-) ttfn

What a great turnaround! I can tell you I didn't skim much of this (mega)chapter!

Before, there were glimpses of quality and a lot of filler - I nearly quit. This was quite the opposite. You kept up a slow burn, then smoothly ramped up the pace of the action until the big finale. 5 stars, well earned.
