Kohl's face was inscrutable. "You're drunk, Harper. You should go in alone and sleep." "Who knew you cared for my sobriety," she muttered.
Kohl's eyes softened. "Last night felt like a coercion. Who am I fucking kidding? It was. I don't regret it, but the next time I take you, Harper, we'll both have full control of ourselves." His gaze dropped to her wrists, something dark uncurling behind them. "Or some control."
He stretched across the seat and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Goodnight." Harper got out and as she walked up to her apartment, she couldn't stop a smile from spreading.
