I felt Michelle's body tighten and hold very still for several seconds before she screamed, "Oh my god Carl" as her body jerked several times. She slumped back breathing rapidly. For several minutes, she relaxed as her breathing gradually slowed down.
Her eyes opened. Without a word, she motioned for me to lie beside her. As I did, she put her head on my left shoulder. I felt her relaxed rhythmic breathing and realized she had dozed off. Not wanting to disturb her, I soon drifted off to sleep as well.
We awakened as the first signs of daylight peeked around the curtains.
