Nay, weights and measures do us both a wrong.

For verily love knows not 'mine' or 'thine;'

With separate 'I' and 'thou' free love has done,

For one is both and both are one in love:

Rich love knows nought of 'thine that is not mine;'

Both have the strength and both the length thereof,

Both of us, of the love which makes us one.

"Please my love, don't throw our love away because you fear tomorrow," she said.

In the end, Patty-Ann got her way. I thought there would be a pause, that I would at least get a reprieve while they planned the wedding, but preparations were already well under way. They'd actually booked a hall some months back in preparation for my proposal. On the second Saturday in August I was married to Patty-Ann and we spent a romantic week in Paris, a city whose natives desert it during the August heat.

Patty-Ann started work as Mrs. Gregory Shelley. Yes, like the poet. Lord Byron once said that all tragedies eventually end in death and comedies in marriage. However, I would never place my confidence in so unreliable a poet as Byron. Marriage may well be the worst of all tragedies.

*****

Ok, not the usual love story but let me know what you think, and before you ask I don't as yet have a second part.

It’s just a matter of time till she cheats. She’s been “run through” by a hundred dicks or more. She offer's her body to other men without hesitation, yet refuses the man she claims to love. That’s fucked up. I would have cut the cord much earlier. Dude is fucked! 4/5 BRB

Not reasonable that he so clearly sees Kelly for the shameless, narcissistic slit she is, tells her he won't marry her and yet doesn't take measures to cut her out of his life. He clearly sees the disaster waiting if he marries her yet does. This is the very dictionary definition of stupid. At this point I've lost interest in what happens to him.

This one's just hanging waiting for a shoe to fall.

I think I dated Patty-Ann in grad school. Fortunately/Unfortunately, I didn't propose to her.

Crisis averted!!

Had almost as much fun reading the comments as the story. I laughed so hard at the guy who said the author was female and written for wimps who get their peepee hard. I'm literally wiping tears from my eyes.

Sorry but he was right the first time. He should have run for the hills.

I got a bad feeling about that "relationship?". She's gonna cheat within a few years, I just hope there's no kids.

Well that was something I didn’t expect from them

I gave it a four because I was still waiting for the reality of the situation to come out
