As if that wasn't enough, the sickening stench of rotting durians drove them back into the street. Peter's laughter was not appreciated nor was his comment, "They say when the durians come down the sarongs go up."

Anonymousover 16 years agoI feel like this is a never-ending story. Every time it seems we get closer to the conclusion something new pops up. The newness, however, isn't adding to the intrigue, it's just dragging the story out more and more. Also, given the continuous circles the first 15 or so chpts took us through this is really becoming intolerable. I've tried to hold on b/c of minor improvements in the more recent chpts. and since I've invested 25 chpts of reading time thus far, but I think I may have to join the mutiny cries and abandon this ship.
Anonymousover 16 years agoThe story is fascinating as it moves from the pubs of Sydney to the jungle yet the characters for all their faults have not faultered.
The following of Peter's and Jennifer's love has been the constrant thread and for all the ups and downs their love is shown as true.
