Her green eyes were bleeding from corner to corner and her mouth was opened in a silent scream, a trickle of blood escaping her lips. The coils of the dragon's body crushed her tighter, the silver of its eyes practically gleaming as it sucked the life from her body to take into its own.

Thatcher's vision turned red. Power and hatred coursed within his veins so strong that the rush of magic to his body was almost dizzying. Glowing balls of flame emerged from Thatcher's palms and without warning a roar escaped his lungs. The sound was so anguished, so filled with rage that the black dragon was pulled from his spell over Tempest to search for the source of the noise.

And Thatcher's roar brought a familiar presence to his side.

"We take him together," Tze'sic said quietly, his tone brooking no argument.

Thatcher did not break his gaze with the dragon to look over at the Gargoyle. "I will deliver the blow that will take the dragon's life," he replied in a voice completely absent of emotion as he began to give into the dark coiled beast within him.

Tze'sic summoned two wielding axes to him and nodded. "You distract him, I will help Tempest."

Thatcher snarled as the Gargoyle made to move, his true form unleashing itself fully at the sound of his mate being touched by a male other than him.

Silver eyes clashed with gold and slowly both pairs of eyes turned red as the truth was laid bare in front of them.

"We will deal with this later," Tze'sic ground out, flashing his fangs. His red eyes went above Thatcher's head briefly. "That is, if you survive."

Thatcher smiled coldly, his tail snaking across the ground as he called forth his talons. "I'm not so easily injured," he replied with an icy chuckle. Thatcher turned back to the dragon, not waiting for Tze'sic's response. With a chuckle that bordered madness Thatcher relinquished control to his beast completely and let his magic take reign.

No one would take his Tempest from him.

Not if he was still breathing.

wtf?!

I think you are an amazing writer, and this story is pretty well written. BUT, I hate thayt Thatcher knows Tempest so well and Talon is "supposedly" her life mate. I mean, we barely know anything about Talon!!! He's barely in the story!!! He's mmore like a supporting character then someone vBulletin we could actually see Tempest being with. If Tempest chooses Talon over Thatcher, I woul have a really hard time seeing cause she knows Thatcher soo much better than Talon. Sorry about my little rant and you're an amazing author

WOW!!!

Excellent writing, great imagination and I am hoping that Talon gets his chance to really get to know Tempest, as Thrasher has. Yes, Talon should have told Tempest that he was leaving, since she is supposed to be his life-mate...maybe given her a choice of going with him and getting to know him. I am waiting patiently for the next chapter....as I have become addicted to your story!!!

And so the tension mounts...

You handled it so skillfully that I can't tell whose destiny Tempest will share, Talon's or Thatcher's.

An enthralling adventure!

Now, to await what the next chapter will bring.
