The author gets back to advancing this entertaining story by adding body modification to the list of woes faced by the team & also having them finally meet the highland aliens. Highlights of this chapter for me were:

Wesley raping Beverly. We all knew this was coming & it was over all too quickly, but still a nice scene. Bonus points for Troi & T'vor looking on & doing nothing - Troi because she's useless & T'vor probably because she enjoyed seeing Beverly be humiliated.

The highland aliens brutally using the team, to particularly include Troi & Wesley. An interesting part of this was that while it was Beverly who ensured Troi & Wesley fed, it was T'vor who made sure that Ogawa did so. Was this out of altruism or comradeship, or because T'vor recognizes that even the bimbo Nurse is useful as a distraction? We shall see.

T'vor deciding to head off on her own to set the beacon. While this makes sense logically, it also leaves the rest of the team in a very vulnerable position - T'vor probably couldn't care less about this, but we'll see how it turns out for them. Five stars.
