I am at a crossroad to understand this reading. I understand he paid for her college education. Stood by her through thick and thin. He cooks and cleans the house yet she treats him like shit. Beat and fucks his ass and says she loves him. Either one of them must look like shit and can't get anyone but each other.

Authors are politically correct : this would have been an acceptable example of the vicious psychopath / spineless sub genre , but was made farcical by the idiotic declarations of love .
