Why did you end it? Should we expect another episode? You're still at the character introduction phase, and you've done well with that,although the inability of the Anglo woman to fall for a full blooded aboriginal is more than slightly racist. And the plot theme, an American woman driving across Mexico in a rental car alone, is between thin anf unbelieveable.

Otherwise, your prose is fine, descriptions ok, it's a surprise that you stopped.

Your story seemed to show so much promise then the abrupt ending. Did you perhaps misplace the end of the story? Hopefully, you will remedy the problem with a sequel.

That was the year the US tried to take over the School of the Americas;Alot of rich investors were very unhappy about it.Used to be the safest place to send your kid to school (for free if the kid could qualify at the Federal Standards) for the finest MOST EXPENSIVE extensive quality education available or 'babysitting' for that matter.We are still feeling the repurcussions of that years events to this day.EVERYONE CARES ABOUT THEIR CHILDRENS SAFETY;and their own Advents.It is kinda off topic;but that Final Fantasy IIV:Advent Children comes to mind.I seem to remember that that guy and girl ran one such school too.
