One suggestion - you might elect to define or explain "schatten" for those who don't know German. When I first saw the term, it caused a momentary confusion in my mind which broke the rhythmic flow of the storyline.

Also, I doubt many readers would immediately associate the latin "Vulpes" with the genus for the true foxes, although the corresponding association of "Canis" with the genus for wolves (and dogs) will be an easier task. Your helpful hint shortly thereafter provides a nice clue for those who never studied taxonomy or were required to learn the full latin names for organisms (i.e. Canis lupis lupis (gray wolf), Canis lupis familiaris (domestic dog), Felis domestica (domestic cat), Vulpes vulpes (red fox), etc.) .

This is the only article that I have ever left a comment on, this was a perfect story and story line however it would be nice if you would explain what Schatten means because it disrupted the flow of the story to have to open google translate. Other then the meaning of Schatten the story was perfect and I can't wait to read part two, this was by far the best work I have seen in a long time, keep up the good work!
