Why was Rasheed trying to push her away?

I liked it very much, but I have to ask as well: why did he push her away? I hope you post more

I kind of wanted people to make up their own backstory for the characters. For me, a lot of the time I really enjoy intense emotional moments in stories. This was kind of an experiment to see if I could do that without explicitly stating what was going on beyond the moment. Whatever you thought, that's the reason. I didn't decide that before I wrote it, so it's really whatever makes you enjoy it more. I'd really love to know what you were thinking about it.
