The tale's cadence and flow grabbed me first, like a rivers current. Good writing oughta have this exact effect on readers. It ought to carry them along without smashing them onto the rocks or into the shallows (you wanna thrill them not kill them). Reminds me of Rudyard Kipling.
Love me tender, love me sweet
Never let me go
You have made my life complete
And I love you so
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darlin', I love you
And I always will
Love me tender, love me long
Take me to your heart
For it's there that I belong
And we'll never part
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darlin', I love you
And I always will
Love me tender, love me dear
Tell me you are mine
I'll be yours through all the years
Till the end of time
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darlin', I love you
And I always will
So... A mixture of features that in this world are partly from the 18th-19th century, partly from the 21st century.
