The downside to Magic Knowledge is that you need to memorize the chants which are in a language designed just for the game. Any slight mispronunciation will cause the spell to fail. It's not uncommon for enchanters to take this skill because enchanting only needs you to have access to a spell. Chanting is unnecessary. Last you lose the ability to learn other magic skills.
