It could be so much better if you continued to develop it - where do they go from there, etc. You started out so nicely setting the stage with their antagonism, then you just dropped it. Too bad. I've noticed that with several of your stories - as if you lose interest after the "hero" gets the girl - once. So much potential neglected.

Sorry, what? That's it? Next time don't bother with the characters' background, if you aren't going to use it. You only lose time and the reader feels deceived. Google Chekhov's gun, it's a thing for a reason.
