Grid jumped up and down for joy and hugged Orion as the words of the Goddess thrilled her beyond words. Both grew quiet as Athena continued to speak. "And your destiny son is not yet complete, but, it is the will of Chaos and Gaia that I play a part. Take my advice Orion and do NOT return to Pythia. She is under the control of Hecate and they will NOT help you complete your odyssey. I know of your task, and your curse, by my rug munching cousin Artemis and the secret to castrating an immortal is found by obtaining the fang of Ariadne. If Artemis wasn't such a hothead she would know this already."

Orion gulped at these words as getting the fang of Ariadne would be even more dangerous than his tussle with the furies. "I see you are worried Orion" Athena giggled. "Have more faith son. Any human who can withstand the wrath of the furies should have no problem with a little problem like Ariadne. Now, depart in peace and with my blessing. You have made me very happy with the recruit you have brought and our paths may cross again as you fulfill your ultimate destiny."

Orion bowed deeply to the Goddess and turned to Grid and smiled. Words did not pass between them as the emotions were too high for speeches, but their eyes met and the kiss they exchanged expressed more than mere words ever could. Bowing again, Orion scurried out of the doors of the temple and quickly reunited with Pegasus. The winged horse danced and cavorted as she saw her fully restored master bounding down the steps to meet her. Running his hands over her mane, Pegasus kept nuzzling her face into his chest, overjoyed at his sudden restoration to health. Once on her back, Pegasus launched into the night sky on the next leg of their journey, whinnying happy sounds as she and Orion were back together again.

Back in the temple, Grid looked up into the kind eyes of Athena and tried to form her thoughts into words. Suddenly getting everything she had always dreamed about was overwhelming and she was dumbstruck with her mind racing with a flood of conflicting thoughts. "And I am sure you are wondering about YOUR destiny now aren't you Grid?" Nodding silently, Grid listened. "You are to become my chief Priestess! You are obviously very smart as well as beautiful and as a warrior Goddess as well as the Goddess of Wisdom, my servants must be beautiful, smart AND strong and you are definitely all three! You will learn all of the knowledge there is to learn and you will become wise in the ways of my cult. And as Chief Priestess of course, you will have many luxuries and perks that you never dreamed existed!"

Grid's head was swimming at her sudden great fortune. Stuttering and stammering, she knelt and asked "What kind of perks?"

"Well" Athena answered "For one thing, you will be granted your own personal servant to attend to all of your needs and respond to your every whim, to use at your complete discretion. And, since we are speaking of destinies here, I think you have already met him, as his destiny too is now fulfilled!" Athena laughed as she pointed her enormous toe to the naked bound guard squirming at the back of the room.

Turning back to look at the guard, he began to sweat even more now as he saw the evil glint in Grid's eyes as it was now SHE who was licking her lips.
