They say not to, "judge a book by it's cover," but I thought this story didn't sound very interesting. I was completely wrong, so far it has been one of the best stories I have read on this site. I think the mysterious woman is Merrick's mother. Can't wait to find out what becomes of the two lovers? And also what happened to Merrick's pod? Excellent story, there are some editing errors but they are minor and really do not affect the story.
