If I may suggest something, could you consider writing a story set in a fantasy setting? It might be interesting to see an empire being overrun by a similar species to the Nymphoids, rather than the typical orcs.

I just realised I didn't put much constructive thought into the last comment... The only thing I can think of is to give a little more explanation for the events that occur; it took a double-read to understand most of it, and I'm not entirely sure I know everything about the ending.
