This was an exceptional story with very believable characters, emotions and motivations. And you went to the trouble, either by living it or researching it, to nail down the little details of what Phoenix was like back then. I really appreciate that kind of care. I hope we see more stories from you.

I love the attention to detail. You're writing about what you know and it shows. If this is not based on actual events, it certainly feels that way. It's something a lot of amateur writers struggle with. I also like your no-nonsense storytelling style. You show no urge to embellish like a cheesy romance writer.
