Avery buried his face in Rick's shoulder and held him tight. "Promise?" He asked. "Promise you'll never leave, no matter what."
"I promise." Rick smiled. "I'll always be here Avery, no matter what. I love you. It's okay if you can't say it back, or if you don't feel the same way. You don't have to love me. Just being close to you is enough for now."
"I do love you." Avery told him. "I just don't know if I..."
"It's okay." Rick kissed the top of Avery's head. "I understand. You don't have to say anything."
"Thank you." Avery looked up and smiled. "So, when are you gonna start moving your stuff in?"
"How's tomorrow sound?" Rick asked, giving Avery a friendly wink to let him know that everything was alright.
"Perfect." Avery laughed. "Everything's perfect now."

Did something happen between them when they were younger cause it kind of sounds like there was something there. i dont think rick has really had any gay feelsing before avery so it makes me wonder if mike had raped him too and thats why he hates mike so much.

I almost cried when Rick told avery that he didnt have to love him back that he just wanted to be near him. that is the sign of true love.
Anonymousover 6 years agoA great chapter which is, I hope, a step on the way to the realisation by Rick and Avery that they are in love with each other. Now all that is needed is for there to be some sort of reconciliation with Mikey and the four original band members to be together again as friends.

I loved the end how avery and rick are still good friends even if avery isnt really in love with him but still loves brian. and what was that dream? is avery starting to fall for rick too now? im excited to see which one he ends up with in the end. good job keep writing.
