As disturbing as the physical abuse in this story is, you are telling it beautifully. As I read it I've gone through the gamut of emotions a friend of an abused woman might experience -- anger, frustration, sadness, and hope. You've done a nice job showing how Jeremy's level of violence is escalating -- in the first chapt. he wasn't hitting their son and now in this one he is. Classic signs that if she doesn't get out soon Santana will lose both of his parents. I hope she finds happiness with Luke, and that her abusive relationship ends soon -- though I'm certain the emotional scars will be there for a long time.

Great job -- I look forward to seeing what happens next!!
