When she was clean and dry, Betty went over her options. "Tell the authorities? They're likely to put me in the nuthouse at best, dissect me at worse. That stuff in the kitchen is just a bunch of snot, like the blue powder from last year. Deal with it myself? But how? What if there are more of those things? Oh God, what am I going to do?"
Betty suddenly felt exhausted. "Shit! I think I'm crashing." Her intense adrenaline powered arousal was replaced with heavy lethargy. She stumbled to her bedroom and fell to the mattress. She had time for one brief thought, "I'll have to cl . . ." before winking out into unconsciousness.
In the back of her mind, just before oblivion, Betty, while she considered the event strange, entertained some faint hope her experience was a one time session, other than the encounter with the spider.
