The ending was consistent with the author's character development of Chloe, but unacceptable. The blossoming and confessed love Tom had expressed should have not allowed the dominatrix to stop him when he began to intervene. Considering the rules of BDSM requiring the permission of the slave, the ending would have been better with Chloe demanding the dominatrix trade places with her when the dominatrix offered to do anything Chloe asked. The story could then continue with the roles reversed.
