The story's fundamental premise is wildly flawed. Even in a totally fantasy world, a female would never be stuck being forced to live in a male residence hall room involuntarily. Or even voluntarily (just think of the legal problems the uni would face). There's no such thing as "we're full; no room for you" in university dorms. In my 40-yr career in uni administration, I've seen thousands of involuntary doublings or triplings of students in rooms where needed. That spoiled the story for me; it's based on an unbelievable premise. Not to mention the fact that even for small colleges, staff is always available 24/7 to resolve any housing problems.
