It was raining slightly, just a small drizzle as Hope stepped out of the car.
"David! Where the hell have you been?"
"Around."
"I looked everywhere for you."
"Why? I thought you didn't care about me."
"You know that isn't true, I love you and I want to be with you I just don't know how to make it work."
He cleared the distance between them and kissed her with two weeks worth of want.
"I've missed doing that."
"So have I."
David reached into his pocket, pulling out a set of keys. He held them in front of himself.
"Go to Duke with me and move in with me. You got accepted to the university and I got into their law program. Plus I just bought an apartment 30 minutes from the campus. What do you say?"

Anonymousalmost 14 years agoChapter one and chapter two appear to have been written by two different
people. A serious edit and rewrite of chapter two wouldn't hurt. You had a great start then lost your pacing and characterization. Keep trying.
