This is hands down one of the best stories on this site. The characters just pull you in and once they have you they just don't let go.

My heart just aches for Liam, he's been thru so much and he still has such a long way to go.

If you ever edit this story, you might consider bringing in some more interaction between Jack on Liam on the subject of Liam's grief over his sister. Whatever Jack might feel about the kids, he would surely offer comfort and condolences? Also, Jack's feelings about his sister needs a bit more emphasis. I lost a sibling when I was in my twenties, and believe me, it really, really hurts. The way this is told, it's almost as though Jack hardly knew his sister.
