Welles, finally able to pull her mind away from the moment, tried to process what had just happened, but was really coming up short. Then she noticed that wherever the fluid from Rose had splashed on her body was tingling. It felt like Rose was running her tongue over her whole belly, groin, and thighs all at once. Her clit went from tingly and aroused to stimulated and burning in a few seconds. After what felt like hours, the sensation gradually faded, and Kat sank down again next to Rose, trying to catch her breath. Kay knew she had a lot of important things to do, but the belly full of milk and the intensity of the last few minutes had wrung her dry, and she drifted off to sleep.

Welles gradually came back to consciousness in unfamiliar surroundings. She was in a clean, metallic room that just screamed "alien spaceship." She sat up and spun to sit on the bed she was in, which was made of a cushy material not too different from memory foam. She was back in her uniform, which had somehow been completely cleaned.

"Oh good, you're awake."

Standing in front of another of the beds next to her was what she could only think of as a grey alien. His skin was a little rougher and splotchier than the way they were usually depicted, and he was actually about as stocky as an earthling. Be he was bald with huge black eyes. So yeah, grey alien.

He looked up from the woman on the bed, who Welles recognized as the missing Jessica Handlin. Jessica had a metallic ring encircling her head, with blue light pulsing on it. Kat noticed that Jessica's eyes were moving rapidly.

The grey alien regarded her "The boss...Rose is going to want to talk to you. She told me to go get her when you were up. You probably have a lot to discuss."

"Is she ok?"

"Who, the boss or this girl?"

"I don't know! Both! Everyone!"

"Alright calm down. Yeah everyone's fine. I came down and found you all a few minutes after... well after you fell asleep. You know you shouldn't yell at me. The boss TOLD me if I didn't hear from her to vaporize your town from orbit, but I risked my neck going to rescue you instead. Well rescue her really, but you were definitely a beneficiary of my courage."

Kat chose to ignore most of what the alien was saying for now. "Maybe you should go get Rose."

The grey nodded "yeah that sounds like a great idea."

"Wait, what are you doing to the girl?"

"Oh just wiping her memory and giving her a little tune up. The gestation process of a ravager usually isn't physically harmful to a victim, at least not after a single cycle, but there are some hormones and organics involved in the process that have an off chance of doing some damage, so I'm just flushing those out."

"Wait, you're erasing her memory?"

"Well yeah. Getting taken by a ravager isn't physically dangerous, but the psychological effects... well it's not anything you really want to carry around with you. Also, it's against the rules to let uncontacted species remember their encounters with a member of the alliance. Don't worry about it, She'll be fine. My people have a lot of experience with erasing memories."

"So it's not going to hurt her? Wait, what do you mean experience? Have your people been to earth before?"

"If we have I don't know about it. It's probably classified. I'll go get Rose. Just wait here and don't touch anything."

Welles was left sitting on her memory foam bed, and after a minute Rose came in. As soon as Kat saw her, the bottom dropped out of her stomach. It was a mix of embarrassment and excitement she didn't think she had ever felt before. Rose flushed a deep purple and looked down, and Kat realized Rose was feeling the same thing.

"Hi." said Kat.

"Hello." Rose looked her in the eye, still a deep shade of blue "I'm so glad you're alright. Katherine. You went through so much."

"Thanks, I feel okay. Oh you can speak clearly now!"

"Yes the language download to my Index was malfunctioning earlier, but Rhombus managed to repair the computer, so..."

Awkward barely began to describe the pause that followed.

After a half minute Rose looked down again. She sniffed, and a few tears tracked down her cheeks.

"Hey, hey, Rose, what's wrong?"

"Oh Katherine! I am so, so sorry"

"Rose what...? You don't need to apologize to me."

"How can you even stand to look at me after what I did to you?"

"Ummm... which part are you referring to?"

Rose looked up, a little angry "Don't make light of it! What happened in that barn was obscene! My people have been fighting those... those monsters for decades! And right after you succeed where I failed yet again, I turn around and do to you what that monster has done to so many others!"

She started to straight up cry then, he shoulders shaking with huge, wracking sobs.

Kat got up off the bed and put her arm around Rose. "Rose, Rose, it's ok. You didn't really seem in control of yourself."

Rose sniffed and wiped away her tears "No, no that beast had pumped his poison into me. I was so... just so..." she gave a little hiccup "To lose control of myself like that, to have my will taken away from me. It was hideous."

"I'm so sorry Rose. What happened to you was horrible."

Rose looked up "Happened to me? It's nothing less than I deserved. I'm the same as him! When I kissed you I put his poison in you too. You saved me and then I betrayed you! I'm an animal, and I turned you into an animal too!"

Kat struggled to maintain her composure in the face of Rose's sorrow, shame, and despair. Emotions like that were contagious, and they resonated a little too closely with Kat's own issues.

"You didn't force me to do anything, Rose."

Rose shook her head "You don't understand. The hierarchy have pheromones in their saliva, their kiss steals your will, makes you their slaves... His saliva was all over my face. When I kissed you..."

"Does it feel like heat?"

"What?"

"The saliva, the pheromones, is it like this heat that travels through your skin? Does it make you light headed?"

"Yes that's it, that's it exactly"

"I barely had any."

"What?"

"I barely felt any of that, the pheromones were barely there. I mean, that really, really was not the right place to... do what we did. But I think the pheromones just... made me forget the context for a while. They made me forget why I shouldn't do... what I already wanted to do. What I wanted, what you made me feel, was from you, not from some chemical."

Rose looked confused, tears momentarily forgotten. "I don't understand. If it wasn't the pheromones, how could you... want me? Aren't... aren't you a woman? I thought women of your species were only attracted to men?"

Oh lord "Well most of them are, but some of us are born different. I was born like that. Your species doesn't have any women who like women?"

"My species is monogenedered. There are ONLY women in my species"

"Wow ok, ummm... look Rose, everything that's happened from the moment I've met you has been absolutely batshit insane, so I can only imagine this must all seem kind of crazy to you too, but on my planet, most men like women, and most women like men, but some of them don't. And where I come from liking someone of the same gender... well it's not quite forbidden, but it's not really ok either. So I ran away, I joined the army, which was not a smart move because there it's REALLY not ok. So my whole life I've had these feelings and just never had any way to express them. Never had anyone to express them with. And then you fall out of the sky and you're just so beautiful and so determined even though I could tell you were way over your head. And in that barn... well during an engagement, when my life's in danger, I just have this raw terror trying to swallow me, so I bottle it away. And afterwards sometimes I just need to release it, just to know I'm still alive, but when I was in the army I couldn't do that. I had to keep it in no matter how hard... no matter how much... So after I killed that bastard and you were there and you were just so, so beautiful. So when you kissed me, I've never had anyone kiss me like that, and I..."

Kat looked away from Rose, fighting back a tear, but she failed. "God, I'm sorry. We've never even really spoken before and the first thing I do is talk about all this. Its so... God I'm sorry, I'm so pathetic."

Rose, who had been listening calmly while Kat spoke, touched her cheek and turned her face back "Katherine, you're not pathetic, you're amazing! You fought for your people even though they rejected who you are. You kept going tonight even though you had no way to understand what was even happening. Katherine, you saved your planet! You saved me! And you're right, you're right about all of it. What happened between us in that barn wasn't under our control, but he didn't make us feel for each other. He didn't make me feel how I do about you. When I woke up next to you and you were looking down at me, I knew I was safe, and I... I was attracted to you too. And even though having my will taken from me was horrific, if it wasn't for that, we never would have.... I never would have gotten to ..."

Rose started laughing. There was an edge of hysteria to it "This is madness. All of this is just madness!"

Kat joined in laughing, the impossible welter of emotions giving her a hysterical edge as well. "God, I know!"

They laughed together for a minute, then Kat leaned down and pulled Rose into a fierce kiss. Electricity shot through her body as their tongues mingled. Then Kat pulled back, gasping. "Ok, sorry, but we have to stop. I can NOT get it on next to one of my unconscious neighbors twice in a row!"

Rose's eyes widened, looked at the sleeping form of Jessica, then covered her eyes and groaned.

Kat brought a hand to Rose's purple hair, twisting it in her fingers "God you are adorable"

Rose blushed a deep purple and looked away.

There was a pause as each of them tried to calm down and figure out what to say next.

Kat spoke up first "So what happens now?"

Rose ran her tongue over her lips nervously "Well, I'm sure Rhom told you standard protocol would be to erase the memories of everyone in that barn and return you to your homes, to create as little disruption as possible. But you are not a normal case, for a number of reasons. Killing a first son in single combat would get you our highest commendation if you were in the alliance military."

"I unloaded an entire clip in his back first, it was hardly a fair fight."

"Katherine, I've heard of first sons tearing apart five myrmidon troopers at once, after having their torso ripped open by a coil gun. Very few people have been able to accomplish what you have done. If you were to agree to join the fight against the Hierarchy, and made a request to my people to become a citizen, they would certainly grant it. And my mother... she could help hurry it along."

Kat cracked a big grin, trying to hide her desperate excitement and longing for the possibilities Rose was laying out before her. "Move to a planet of hot alien lesbians? sounds great!" Then her enthusiasm started to die away. "I don't know Rose, my mom is very sick. That's the only reason I was home in the first place. I can't just leave her."

Rose nodded "I understand, but whatever illness your mom has, I'm confident Rhom will be able to cure it. It's the least we can do after all you've done for us."

Kat fought to keep her face smooth and her emotions from boiling over again, there had been more than enough emotion for one day. "That would... obviously that would be wonderful. I cannot tell you how much that means to me. My mom and I... have had our problems, but she's my mom." Kat smiled "Thank you."

Rose smiled back and took Kat's hand. It felt good there.

Kat gave a sigh "But still, I don't know if I could go to war again. Even if it was for a much much better cause than the first time I did. I've already been through so much. Maybe I could after a while, but I wouldn't want to be forced into it, even if it was a way to stay with you."

Rose nodded, her face grave, and squeezed Kat's hand. "I understand, war is a terrible thing, and the one against the Hierarchy the most terrible of all. It's not something anyone should be forced into before they are ready." Rose blushed a little "There is another way you could join my people... join me... Kat, there's something I have to tell you. I know you've already been through alot today, but it's important that you know this now."

Kat smiled "It's fine Rose. After the day I've had, I don't think anything could shock me anymore."

"Kat. You're pregnant."
