Great story; both my wife and I loved it. It was a well-written piece of medieval action, excitement and even emotional bonding. It was based on the centuries old archetype of the alpha warrior male protecting a civilized couple in a savage, dangerous setting. This story line still applies today for a married couple traveling in military zones or third-world backcountry trips.

This experience is similar to situations like the Angolan civil war or in currently warring regions of Africa or the Mideast. In those settings, it is almost a given that the highly educated, civilized wife will fall in lust and love with the virile guide, protector, body guard, right under the nose of the modern, less masculine husband.

Over the last 12 years, my wife and I have often traveled overseas to primitive, dangerous places for our work and we needed protection and escorting. The guys you contract with are certainly not angels, but they know how to survive under those conditions. We have seen it over and over again where the white, usually feminist, wives go native for the entire trip and leave their husbands high and dry. It is built into a woman´s DNA to naturally spread her legs for these strong-man guides or protectors.

Plus, at the time in history this story happens, for the better and for the worse, the wife has a lot more to lose than the husband, ie, hubby's options would be a lot more diverse. Do you really want me to believe that settling with someone who will cheat on him, is the husband only option? It's not, IMO, not even today, despite what several men who don't want to be alone nor rebuild their lives may claim, But again, that's only my opinion. Kudos to you, to elicit such emotional response from me. I didn't find the story erotic in the least, only a possible real-life account. The speech I based my comment on looked similar to the ones in some very funny websites I once came across. That kind of manipulative speech to be put to use against emotionally vulnerable and potentially insecure men in general, is something I really don't like but that, unfortunately, seems to be accepted by a section of the "targetted audience".
